Perhaps during one of your visits to our dive center in Playa del Carmen, you will have the chance to be greeted by “Dobby”…!!! The house dog… In fact, his real name is Morro, but he got used to the nickname we gave him because of his striking resemblance to the character from the Harry Potter film…

Always busy playing with a dry coconut or being petted “Dobby” will welcome you and accompany you during your coffee break or between 2 dive briefings

His name is José Alberto Ortiz Perez, he comes from Pichucalco in Chiapas. He is our driver, the one who takes care of you in the car, often with a nice musical background… He is more a man of the mountains than of the sea normally. His favorite moments are spent playing soccer and at work in love with his truck … Dedicated and always with a smile. He has a 13 year old daughter who lives in the Chiapas region.

Our Super Captain, Vicente, is from Veracruz and has been working as a Captain for more than 10 years. He has worked on ferries, commercial boats, and for years in Playa del Carmen. He knows the sea and the ocean like no other.

With 17 years of experience in the area, his name is Mauricio Rivera, originally from Mexico City, is passionate about diving, especially cave and cavern diving, speaks English, Spanish and French, with a great attitude of service and safety, thus providing a lot of fun in their diving tours.

Originally from Paris and passionate about oceanography and the exploration of the underwater world, Marcelin started diving in 1995. After being part of a group of young oceanographers in the early 2000’s he moved to technical diving in 2010 and settled in Playa Del Carmen in 2015 to dedicate himself to underground diving and exploration of submerged caves.
Today, Marcelin is our Tec diving instructor. He continues to participate in scientific and exploration projects. Come learn technical diving in Mexico with Dune Playa Del Carmen.

His name is Ever Ivan Rodriguez Rodriguez from Tabasco, he is 32 years old and has a son of eleven years old.
He has been living in Playa del Carmen for 12 years and his job at DUNE is as a “ Tanquero / Bodeguero”
He is in charge of organizing the tanks to keep them in order according to the orders of his visitors.
He is also involved in computer processing and graphic design among other things.
A remarkable characteristic of him is that you will always see him with a smile on his face and above all being helpful to everyone.

Our caretaker … her name is Paty, she is originally from the state of Tlaxcala. She has been living in Playa del Carmen for 12 years.
She is sociable and likes to learn new things. Her job at DUNE is to keep the shop clean and tidy. After work, she devotes herself to sewing. she is a master of many things one being repairing wetsuits for our staff and customers when needed.

Inma García. 24 years old, from Spain, discovered the world of diving while studying biology at university in 2019 …. and has been diving ever since. She obtained her instructor course in 2020. She has worked as a dive instructor in Spain and Costa Rica and has dived in the Red Sea, the Maldives, the Galapagos… The ocean is her passion and she can’t wait to pass it on to all our divers and future students.

Louise, she comes from the south of France, she spends most of her time in the water since her childhood … but one day, in 2018, she falls in love with diving in Bali, she passes the Open water to Divemaster between the USAT Liberty and Nusa Penida. She missed her Mediterranean sea, between the pond of Thau, the oyster beds, Marseille and Estartit, she becomes N4 and professional diver at the INPP. She is involved in the protection of sharks and rays in the Mediterranean. But she misses traveling too much, so she packed her bags for a new world …. Mexico…

After more than 20 years spent in Mexico and more particularly in the Riviera Maya working as a diving instructor, Camille joined our Dune Mexico team in 2018 – first as PADI Course Director and Instructor Trainer in Tec Diving then, finally since July 2020 as manager for Dune in Mexico…
